The TIPs program is an interactive training program in the responsible service of alcohol. The program is designed to help sellers and servers of alcoholic beverages use their people skills to ensure customers enjoy alcohol in a safe and responsible manner. TIPs trains sellers and servers to serve responsible in fun buy safe environments. The program focuses on showing sellers and servers how to prevent serving to the point of intoxication, to intervene if someone is intoxicated, and to prevent alcohol service to minors. The responsibility message in the program is coupled with an emphasis on customer service so participants learn to prevent illegal alcohol sales while meeting customer needs. The TIPs program is the most widely recognized alcohol service program in the United States and is recommended for all sellers and servers of beverage, including management.
